solar-lantern-25cm-black
Solar Lantern 25cm - Black

Description

Our Solar Lantern is a black steel wire cage, its slim vertical bars curving into a rounded barrel shape between a flat round lid and a round base, with a wire carry handle arching over the top. Inside, a clear plastic shade in the shape of an old filament bulb holds a built-in LED that gives 16 lumens at 3000K, a warm light rather than a cool one. The lantern stands 25cm tall and measures 19cm long and 19cm wide, and at 0.6KG it is easy to lift by the handle and move from one table to another. The solar panel is set into the lid, so there is no plug to find and no cable to run.

At 16 lumens, the light is a soft glow for mood rather than a light for reading, and that is where this lantern earns its place: on a coffee table, a sideboard or a deep windowsill, it adds a small, warm point of light behind the black wire bars. It suits anyone who likes the look of a lantern in the evening but has no socket nearby, and because the panel charges from daylight, a bright conservatory or a sunny window makes a natural home for it. As general guidance, the panel does best in an open, sunny spot.

The cage, lid and base are steel in a black finish, and the bulb-shaped shade is clear plastic, so the filament-style LED stays on show. A small on/off switch sits on the lid beside the panel, which lets you decide when the lantern lights. It runs on a single AA NiMH battery rated at 600mAh, with an operating voltage of 1.2V. Before you settle on a spot, check that the lid will catch open daylight there, because daylight on the panel is what charges it.

Specification

Lumens

16lm

Colour Temperature

3000K

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Black

Shade Material

Plastic

Shade Colour

Clear

Light Source

LED, integrated

Length

19cm

Width

19cm

Height

25cm

Weight

0.6KG

Battery Count

1

Operating Voltage

1.2V

Switch

On/off switch

Battery

AA, NiMH, 600mAh

Frequently Asked

How does the solar lantern charge?

The solar panel set into the lid charges from daylight.
