A gunmetal lampholder with a domed shoulder over a broad threaded skirt and a wide flanged ring below it, so the body reads as three stacked steps. A short plain cord entry rises from the top and small holes are punched round the flange where a shade or a frame can be fixed. The metal is a dark grey with a faint warm sheen and a fine turned line on the thread. There is no shade fitted, so whatever lamp goes in is the whole of what is seen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is the part everything else is built around: a shade goes over it, a flex runs into it, and the lamp you choose sets how the light reads. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own.
