small-cabin-round-bulkhead-light-ip64-satin-nickel
Small Cabin Round Bulkhead Light IP64 - Satin Nickel

Description

The Small Cabin is a round bulkhead light in the porthole style, made from solid brass and finished in satin nickel, a soft silvery sheen rather than a mirror shine. A grid cage sits over clear ribbed glass, whose fine ribs run out from the centre like a sunburst and diffuse the light from the bulb. It is 21cm in diameter and 9cm deep, so it sits close to the wall without crowding a narrow porch or doorway. Rated IP64, it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, which means it lives outdoors in British weather.

It belongs beside a front door, in a porch, on a garden wall or on the side of a boathouse, anywhere a wall light earns its keep. Three lugs around the rim, each with a small thumb turn, give it the look of a ship's porthole, and the maker says the maritime influence shows in the materials, designs and even the names of the range. The satin nickel keeps that nautical feel cool and understated, so it sits as comfortably on painted brick or render as on weathered stone. Because it is IP64, it can also go in a bathroom, and a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

Inside, it takes one E27 (ES) lamp up to 18W, and the lamp is not included, so you choose a bulb in the warmth you like. The maker says thumb turns come with it, which makes changing the bulb a simple job. Cable entry is by a gland at the side or the rear, or by conduit with an adaptor sold separately, which gives a choice of route on the wall. It weighs 1.42KG. As a mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. Fit one either side of a doorway and the pair frames the entrance neatly; on its own, it lights the way to a side gate.

Specification

Finish

Satin Nickel

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES) 18W Max (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP64

Diameter

21cm

Depth

9cm

Cable Entry

Cable Gland at the Side or Rear, or by Conduit (Adaptor Sold Separately)

Weight

1.42KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE & UKCA

Country of Origin

Greece

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Small Cabin bulkhead light go outside all year?

Yes.
