The lid is hinged along one back edge and lifts on a half round brass tab at the front. Inside, brass bars run from the centre out to each of the six corners and divide the floor into six triangular compartments.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 25.5cm across it is a dressing table or shelf piece rather than one for a drawer, and at 6.5cm tall it is low enough to look down into from standing. Everything in it shows through the glass without the lid being lifted. The compartments are wedges, wider at the wall than at the centre, so bangles and longer chains go to the outside and rings sit anywhere.
