sita-reclaimed-wood-iron-side-table-chocolate-brown
Sita Reclaimed Wood & Iron Side Table - Chocolate Brown

Description

A side table 56cm tall with a top of 46 by 35cm, made from reclaimed ceiling wood on a hammered iron base. The wood is stained a deep chocolate brown, which darkens the grain and the aged texture of the old beam rather than hiding them. The base is solid iron in matt black, shaped by hand and drawn in towards the floor on tapered legs. Every table is assembled by hand.

The top is 46cm by 35cm, a rectangle rather than a square, so it stands lengthways beside a chair or at the end of a sofa and takes a lamp, a book and a cup without crowding. At 56cm it is well above coffee table height, which puts the top at about the height of a chair arm rather than down by the floor. It weighs 16.7kg.

The top is reclaimed ceiling wood and the base is iron. Every beam arrives with its own history, so the grain, the knots and the old marks differ from table to table and the dark stain shows them rather than covering them over. Sita is also made as a coffee table.

Specification

Height

56cm

Width

46cm

Depth

35cm

Material

Reclaimed Wood & Iron

Colour

Chocolate Brown

Weight

16.7kg

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

56cm tall, with a top 46cm by 35cm.

What is it made from?

Reclaimed ceiling wood on a solid iron base.

What colour is the base?

Matt black. Wipe surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth to lift dust and moisture, always working in the direction of the grain. Mild soap and water can be used, but not much water, as it will damage the finish. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive materials away from it, keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which fades the colour, and away from extremes of heat and humidity, which cause cracking and splitting. Do not leave rubber or plastic standing on the wood, as both can react with the finish over time, and take any scratch or stain to a professional.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0729/8993/3835/files/NP58618_01_1500_01ee43a4-b221-4e65-9a29-2e3f2021eae2.jpg?v=1791213905
