sismanne-pendant-light-black-wood
Sismanne Pendant Light - Black & Wood

Description

The Sismanne is a pendant light with an open geometric cage of black steel wire, topped by a round natural wood collar where the cage meets the cord. The faceted frame is wider than it is tall, so it reads as a broad, low shade rather than a deep drum. It is 45.5cm across, has an overall height of 110cm and weighs 1.22KG. It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included, so the colour and brightness of the light are yours to choose. Its IP20 rating settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms, away from bathrooms and the garden.

At 45.5cm across, it has the presence to hang over a dining table or a kitchen island, or to sit at the centre of a living room or bedroom ceiling. Because the cage is open, the bulb stays in view through the wire, so a filament bulb becomes part of the look, while a frosted one gives a gentler glow. The black steel and natural wood suit rooms with rattan, pale timber and plaster tones, and the clean lines work as well in an industrial-style kitchen as in a Scandinavian-style lounge. It is a good choice for anyone who wants one pendant to give a plain room some shape and character.

The frame is steel wire in black with a natural wood collar at the top, and it hangs from a black cord and a round black ceiling rose. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, so it runs from the light switch you already have. It works on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, and as a wired-in light it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download. When you buy the bulb, look for an E27 cap, the larger standard screw fitting, and choose one that looks good bare, since it stays in view.

Specification

Body Material

Steel, Wood

Body Colour

Black & Natural

IP Rating

IP20

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Overall Height

110cm

Diameter

45.5cm

Weight

1.22KG

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Operating Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Sismanne pendant go in a bathroom?

No. It has an IP20 rating, which means it is made for dry rooms indoors, so we suggest a living room, dining room, bedroom or hallway rather than a bathroom or anywhere outdoors.

Does the pendant come with a bulb?

The bulb is not included.
