single-stem-glass-candle-holder-with-butterfly-white-and-green
Single Stem Glass Candle Holder with Butterfly - White & Green

Description

This single stem candle holder sets a pale green glass cup on a slender off-white stem, shaped like a tulip about to open. The glass is clear with a soft green tint, and its rim rises into a crown of pointed tips, so candlelight glows through the sides and catches along every edge. A collar of small pointed petals holds the cup from beneath, two long leaves sweep up from the round base, and a single openwork butterfly with a pale green centre rests on the stem. The stem, leaves and butterfly are finished in matt white. At 10.9cm wide and 10.4cm deep, it takes up little room on a shelf or table.

We like it on a mantelpiece, a windowsill or a dressing table, where the green glass picks up daylight as well as the glow of a candle. It stands on its own round base and needs no wall or hook, so you can move it from the dining table to a bedside shelf whenever you fancy a change. The tulip and butterfly bring a gentle garden feel that sits happily with florals, pale woods and painted furniture, and suits a bedroom as well as a sitting room. Lit or unlit, it adds a little colour to a quiet corner.

The glass cup is held in its collar of petals at the top of the stem, and the flat round foot keeps the holder steady on a level surface. For everyday care, dust the stem, leaves and butterfly with a soft dry cloth, and wipe the glass with a damp cloth once it has cooled completely, then dry it gently. Stand it well away from curtains and anything that might catch, and never leave a burning candle unattended. Set it beside a jug of fresh tulips or a few trailing stems of ivy, and it brings a quiet touch of the garden indoors all year round.

Specification

Material

Glass

Colour

White & Green

Width

10.9cm

Depth

10.4cm

Weight

0.396kg

Frequently Asked

How big is this candle holder?

It measures 10.9cm wide and 10.4cm deep, so it fits comfortably on a mantelpiece, windowsill, shelf or dressing table.

What colour is the candle holder?

The tulip cup is pale green glass with a clear, soft tint, and the stem, leaves, butterfly and base are finished in matt off-white.

Does it need to be fixed to a wall?

No, it stands freely on its own flat round base, so you simply place it on any level surface and move it whenever you like.

What decoration is on the stem?

A single openwork butterfly with a pale green centre rests on the stem, alongside two long leaves that rise from the round base.

How should I clean it?

Dust the stem, leaves and butterfly with a soft dry cloth, and wipe the glass cup with a damp cloth once it is completely cool.
