The glaze is a deep blue with a touch of green, crossed by fine dark lines, so the shade looks more like a piece of pottery than a lampshade. The cylinder is open at its base and sends its light down into the room. It is 23cm tall and 12cm across, and takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W. Matt Black, painted to RAL 9005, and Satin Brass are the quieter choices. Because it is only 12cm across and sits close to the ceiling, it suits a hallway, a landing, a study or a bedroom with a lower ceiling, where a pendant would hang in the way, and a row of them works well along a corridor.
