seated-fox-glass-figurine-with-speckled-chest-orange
Seated Fox Glass Figurine with Speckled Chest - Orange

Description

This seated glass figurine depicts a fox sitting up tall, its tail curled round the base and finished with a frothy white and black speckled tip. The body is a warm orange glass with a fine darker fleck, and a pale speckled chest runs down the front like a patch of winter fur. Small glossy black dots make the eyes and nose, and the pointed ears turn clearer at the tips, catching the light by a lamp or a window. It stands 17cm tall, 8.5cm wide and 8cm deep, a size that sits comfortably in one hand and fits easily on a narrow shelf.

We like it on a bookshelf, a desk or a mantelpiece, where its bright colour lifts a row of neutral books or a plain wall. On a windowsill the glossy orange glass shines in the daylight, and on a bedside table it adds a friendly face to the end of the day. Its rounded, upright outline suits a cosy, country-style room with natural wood and soft textiles, yet it sits just as happily among modern pieces as a single spot of warm colour. It is freestanding, so there is nothing to fix or hang: simply set it on a flat, level surface indoors.

The fox is made from glass with a smooth, glossy finish and sits on a flat base that keeps it steady. To care for it, dust with a soft dry cloth, or wipe with a slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away to keep the shine bright. Like any glass ornament, it is a decorative piece rather than a toy, so place it where it will not be knocked and out of reach of small hands. As a gift it is simple to wrap in tissue in a small box, and it brings a little woodland warmth to any shelf it calls home.

Specification

Material

Glass

Colour

Orange

Height

17cm

Width

8.5cm

Depth

8cm

Weight

1.052kg

Frequently Asked

How big is the glass fox figurine?

It stands 17cm tall, 8.5cm wide and 8cm deep, so it fits comfortably on a narrow shelf, a desk or a windowsill.

What is the fox figurine made from?

It is made from glass, with a glossy orange body, a pale chest speckled with white and black, and small black dots for the eyes and nose.

Does the figurine need hanging or fixing?

No. It is freestanding and sits upright on its base, so you simply place it on any flat, level surface indoors.

How do I clean the glass fox?

Dust it with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away to keep the glass shining.

Can it go in a child's bedroom?

It is a decorative glass ornament rather than a toy, so if it goes in a child's room we suggest a high shelf, well out of reach of small hands.

Does the fox figurine make a good gift?

Its compact size and cheerful orange colour make it an easy present to wrap in tissue and a small box, and it brightens almost any shelf.
