savoy-stripe-polyester-velvet-cushion-chocolate
Savoy Stripe Polyester Velvet Cushion - Chocolate

Description

The Savoy Stripe cushion is a 50 x 50cm square with a cut velvet front worked in fine vertical stripes. The stripes sit proud of a deep chocolate brown ground, catching the light in a warmer amber tone along each raised line, so the surface shifts between dark and glowing as you move past it. It is made from 100% polyester velvet, a fibre chosen here for its dense, hard-wearing pile and its resistance to crushing, which matters on a cushion that gets leaned on and moved about.

At 50 x 50cm this is a full-size square cushion, the sort that anchors the corner of a sofa or sits two or three across the back of a larger settee rather than a small scatter piece. The deep brown and amber palette works with tan leather, dark wood and natural textures, and the vertical ribbing gives it a quiet structure that reads well next to plainer cushions and throws. It suits a living room or a bedroom where you want warmth and a bit of surface interest without a busy pattern.

The front carries the raised cut velvet stripe; the reverse is a smooth velvet in the same chocolate tone, so the cushion looks considered from either side. It closes with a zip along one edge, which lets you take the cover off for cleaning and slip it back on easily. Being polyester, the velvet holds its colour well and stands up to regular use. The stripe design gives you a clear vertical line to work with, so a pair either end of a sofa keeps a room looking tidy and balanced.

Specification

Material

100% polyester velvet

Design

Cut velvet vertical stripe, chocolate with amber highlight

Construction

Cut velvet front, smooth velvet reverse, zip closure

Size

50 x 50cm

Frequently Asked

What is the cushion made from?

It is made from 100% polyester velvet, which gives a dense pile that holds its colour and resists crushing under regular everyday use.

How do I take the cover off to clean it?

There is a zip along one edge, so you can slide the cover off the pad and put it back on again without any fuss.

What size is it and what does it suit?

It is a 50 x 50cm square, a full-size cushion that works well on a sofa corner or across the back of a larger settee.

Is the back the same as the front?

The front has the raised cut velvet stripe and the reverse is a smooth velvet in the same chocolate tone, so both sides look neat.

Does the colour change in the light?

Yes, the raised stripes catch the light in a warmer amber tone against the darker chocolate ground, so the surface shifts as you move past.
