savina-floral-stoneware-cup-saucer-219ml-set-of-4-white
Savina Floral Stoneware Cup & Saucer 219ml Set of 4 - White

Description

This is a set of four stoneware cups, each with its own saucer, finished in white and painted by hand with a loose floral pattern. Inside the cup the flowers run around the rim, while the outside stays mostly plain white with a light scatter of small speckles. On the saucer the flowers form a garland around the well in the middle, and a painted rim frames both pieces. The edges are softly irregular rather than machine-perfect, which gives the set a relaxed, homely look. Each cup holds 219ml, which makes it a proper tea or coffee cup: roomier than an espresso cup and smaller than a mug. Each cup and saucer measures 15cm across and 7.5cm tall.

With four in the set, there is a cup for each person at a small breakfast table, or for an afternoon tea when friends visit. At 219ml it suits a pot of tea poured out in turns, a filter coffee or a milky coffee, and the saucer gives a teaspoon or a biscuit somewhere to rest. They sit happily on a kitchen table, a garden table in summer or a tray carried through to the sitting room. Floral cups and saucers also make an easy gift for someone setting up a first home.

The cups and saucers are 100% stoneware, and the floral pattern is painted by hand. Stoneware is dense and holds heat well, which suits a slow cup of tea. For care, the maker states that they go in the dishwasher and the microwave, and that they can go in the oven too, so warming a cup before pouring is simple. For styling, pair them with plain white plates so the flowers lead, or stack the saucers on an open shelf where their painted rims can be seen.

Specification

Height

7.5cm

Diameter

15cm

Sold as

Set of 4

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

White

Finish

Handpainted

Capacity

219ml

Dishwasher safe

Yes

Microwave safe

Yes

Oven safe

Yes

Food safe

Yes

Weight

1.8KG

Frequently Asked

What comes in the set?

The set is made up of four cups, each with its own matching saucer, all in white stoneware with a hand-painted floral pattern.

How much does each cup hold?

Each cup holds 219ml, a good size for a cup of tea or a filter coffee, larger than an espresso cup and smaller than a mug.

Can the cups and saucers go in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes.
