sandrine-speckled-stoneware-dinner-set-of-12-grey
Sandrine Speckled Stoneware Dinner Set of 12 - Grey

Description

This is a twelve-piece stoneware dinner set in grey, finished in a reactive glaze with a fine speckle running through it. It brings together three shapes: dinner plates 28.5cm across and 2.5cm tall, smaller plates 22cm across and 2cm tall, and deep plates 22cm across and 5cm tall. Stoneware is fired hard and dense, which gives it a reassuring heft, and the set weighs 8.256KG in all. A reactive glaze moves and pools as it fires, so the speckle and the depth of grey shift a little from piece to piece, and no two plates look quite alike.

The 28.5cm plates are a true dinner plate size, with room for a roast, a curry with rice or a generous helping of pasta. The 22cm plates suit breakfast, lunch, starters and puddings, or sit beside the dinner plates for bread and salad. The deep plates sit between a plate and a bowl, so they take soup, stew, risotto, noodles and salads tossed with dressing, and they are the most versatile of the three shapes. The set works as well at an everyday kitchen table as at a weekend supper with friends, and the quiet grey sits easily with wooden tables and linen.

Every piece goes in the dishwasher, the microwave and the oven, so a plate can warm in the oven, carry dinner to the table and go straight into the dishwasher afterwards. The pieces are 100% stoneware, and each has a slim, darker line at the rim that neatly frames the speckled glaze. The plates and deep plates stack tidily, so the twelve pieces make compact piles in a cupboard. To lay the table, set a deep plate on each dinner plate so the two sizes of grey sit in layers, with a smaller plate to the side and a linen napkin folded beside them.

Specification

Plate 1

Height 2.5cm, Diameter 28.5cm

Plate 2

Height 2cm, Diameter 22cm

Deep plate

Height 5cm, Diameter 22cm

Sold as

Set of 12

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Grey

Finish

Reactive glaze

Capacity

900ml

Dishwasher safe

Yes

Microwave safe

Yes

Oven safe

Yes

Food safe

Yes

Weight

8.256KG

Frequently Asked

What sizes are the plates in this dinner set?

The dinner plates are 28.5cm across and 2.5cm tall, the smaller plates are 22cm across and 2cm tall, and the deep plates are 22cm across and 5cm tall.

Can it go in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes.
