salino-wall-shelf-21-5cm-cream
Salino Wall Shelf 21.5cm - Cream

Description

Our Salino wall shelf is a two-tier cream shelf made from 70% MDF and 30% firwood, finished in water based paint. Two flat boards are held apart by four posts, two at each end, each shaped into a run of soft, rounded swells that read like a small piece of balustrade. It measures 60cm long, 17cm wide and 21.5cm tall and weighs 3.1KG. That 17cm depth suits paperbacks, small framed prints, candles and trinkets rather than deep storage boxes, and the 60cm length leaves room for a small group of objects on each tier.

Because it hangs on the wall, it gives you two display surfaces without using any floor space, which makes it a good fit above a reading chair, a desk or a chest of drawers. In a living room the top board can carry a vase and a small ornament while the lower tier holds a short stack of books; in a bedroom it works as a slim spot for jewellery boxes, a candle and a favourite photograph; in a hallway it keeps small pots and a tray for keys off the console. The cream colour is soft rather than stark, so it sits comfortably on grey or warm white walls and next to pale wood and textured fabrics.

The whole piece, boards and posts alike, carries the same water based paint finish, so the cream is even from end to end. Two small hooks sit on the back edge of the top board for hanging, and the maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you can read through the steps at your own pace. For styling, hang it so the top tier sits around eye level and keep the arrangement light: one taller piece on top and something low beneath lets the open space between the tiers and the shape of the wavy posts stay in view.

Specification

Width

60cm

Depth

17cm

Height

21.5cm

Material

70% MDF, 30% Firwood

Colour

Cream

Finish

Water based paint

Weight

3.1KG

Downloads

Assembly instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

How big is the Salino wall shelf?

It is 60cm long, 17cm wide and 21.5cm tall, giving two tiers with a 17cm depth that suits books, small frames and ornaments.

What is the shelf made of?

It is made from 70% MDF and 30% firwood, and the whole shelf is finished in a water based paint in cream.

How does it hang on the wall?

Two small hooks sit on the back edge of the top board for hanging, and the maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download.

How heavy is the shelf?

The shelf weighs 3.1KG, which is worth knowing when you choose wall plugs and screws suited to the wall you are hanging it on.

Is the colour the same all over?

Yes.
