saceda-pendant-light-53cm-black-gold
Saceda Pendant Light 53cm - Black & Gold

Description

The Saceda is a single-light pendant with a shade that is neither a cone nor a dome: a curved steel disc, folded so it sweeps around the bulb like the brim of a hat. Outside it is matt black; inside, a textured gold surface catches the light and reflects a warm glow. It measures 53cm long and 37cm wide, and the pendant has an overall height of 150cm, hanging on a thin black cord from a round black ceiling canopy. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, not included. It is rated IP20, which means indoors and dry: a living room, dining room or bedroom, never a bathroom or outdoors.

Because the shade is open on one side, the bulb stays on show, so a decorative filament bulb earns its place in this black and gold pendant light. Hung over a round dining table, it lends the room a single sculptural focal point, and the gold inner face gives the light it reflects a warm tone. Black and gold sit comfortably with panelled walls, dark paint and pale marble, and the shape reads differently from every angle: a half moon from the side, a sweeping hood from below.

The body is steel, and steel is strong and rigid, so the folded shade keeps its curved form. There is no switch on the pendant itself: it is switched at the wall, so it runs from your existing light switch. It works on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, and as a wired mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download, and the packed weight is 3.302KG. For the best of the gold inner face, we would fit a warm white E27 bulb of no more than 40W.

Specification

Length

53cm

Width

37cm

Overall Height

150cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Black, gold

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 40W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

3.302KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can I use the Saceda pendant in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means indoors and dry only, so it belongs in a living room, dining room or bedroom rather than a bathroom or outdoors.

Does it come with a bulb?

No, the bulb is not included.
