The glass is warm white and evenly diffusing, so the whole shade glows and no lamp shows through as a point. The stem drops to a low round brass base with a stepped edge. The brass is brushed to a soft satin gold on the finial, the stem and the base alike. There is no flex on show, so the lamp reads as a piece to be picked up and carried. It measures 15cm across and 28cm tall, in glass and metal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a lamp to carry: a side table indoors, then a garden table, a balcony rail or a step by the back door once the evening is warm enough to sit out.
