reiko-flat-pendant-light-with-wood-base-matt-black
Reiko Flat Pendant Light with Wood Base - Matt Black

Description

The Reiko is a pendant light with a shallow, flat dome shade in matt black aluminium, set beneath a cylindrical base of natural ash wood and hung on a textile cable. The wood sits on top of the shade like a deep collar, its pale grain meeting the black metal in a clean, level line. It is 15cm tall and 21cm across, with an 8cm canopy at the ceiling, which makes it a compact pendant that hangs neatly without crowding a room. The dome opens downwards, towards whatever sits beneath it.

Its size suits the places where a pendant hangs close to what it lights: over a dining table, above a desk, or beside a bed in place of a table lamp. Hung on its own, it gives a small round table a focus; hung in a row over a longer table, the domes line up neatly and repeat the black and ash pairing along its length. The plain lines and modern, Scandinavian character sit easily in a pared-back interior, and the warm wood keeps the matt black from feeling stark. It works just as well in a reading corner or over a hall console, wherever a small pendant is wanted. This is an indoor pendant.

The shade is aluminium in a matt black finish and the base is natural ash wood, so its grain is the real thing; the cable is textile covered rather than plain plastic. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. When styling it, pick up the ash with oak or pale wood furniture and linen in natural tones, or hang it against a white or soft grey wall, where the black dome reads as a crisp, simple shape.

Specification

Finish

Matt Black

Materials

Aluminium shade, natural ash wood base and textile cable

Height

15cm

Diameter

21cm

Canopy Diameter

8cm

Lamp Cap

E27

Number of Lamps

1

IP Rating

IP20

Control

On-off (switched)

Voltage

220-240V

Cable Length

1.5m

Guarantee

3 years

Product Code

01469

Frequently Asked

How big is the Reiko pendant?

It is 15cm tall and 21cm across, with a canopy 8cm across at the ceiling, so it is a compact pendant.

What is the Reiko pendant made of?

The shade is aluminium in a matt black finish, the base is natural ash wood, and it hangs on a textile cable.

Can I use this pendant outdoors?

No. This is an indoor pendant, made for rooms inside the home rather than for any outdoor space.

Who should install the Reiko pendant?

The Reiko pendant is a mains fitting, so it is for a qualified electrician to install in your home.

Where does a pendant this size work best?

Its compact 21cm dome suits hanging over a dining table, above a desk, beside a bed, or in a row over a longer table.

Will it suit a Scandinavian interior?

Yes.
