rainbow-striped-open-wing-butterfly-glass-figurine-clear
Rainbow Striped Open Wing Butterfly Glass Figurine - Clear

Description

This glass butterfly figurine sits low on its body with its wings lifted into an open V, as though it has just settled for a moment. It is made from clear glass, with bands of red, orange, green and blue running through each wing in rainbow stripes that follow the curve of the wings out to their tips. The upper wings sweep up into fine points and the lower wings fall into rounded ends, so the outline reads as a butterfly from every side. It measures about 12.7cm across, 11.9cm deep and 5.4cm high, a small, neat piece that sits comfortably in the palm of your hand.

It sits on a flat surface on its own, so it needs no stand, hook or wall. We like it on a desk beside the day's notes, on a coffee table, on a side table by a reading chair or on a bookshelf, where its colour lifts a row of plain spines. At 5.4cm high it tucks in under a lamp or a shelf above without crowding anything around it, and its clear body keeps it light on the eye in a small space. The rainbow stripes bring cheerful colour to a neutral room without needing to match a particular scheme, so it suits a white study as easily as a busy family sitting room.

The coloured stripes run within the clear glass, so they look different from each new angle. As with any glass ornament, handle it with care and place it where it will not be knocked. To keep it bright, dust it with a soft dry cloth, and when it needs more, wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it straight away to avoid water marks. It makes a cheerful gift for anyone who loves butterflies, and we think it looks happiest on a windowsill or desk where it is seen every day.

Specification

Material

Glass

Colour

Clear

Height

5.4cm

Width

12.7cm

Depth

11.9cm

Weight

0.332kg

Frequently Asked

How big is the glass butterfly figurine?

It measures about 12.7cm across, 11.9cm deep and 5.4cm high, a small piece that fits easily on a desk, shelf or side table.

What is the butterfly figurine made of?

It is made from glass, with a clear body and red, orange, green and blue stripes running through the wings in a rainbow pattern.

Does it need a stand, or can it be hung up?

It sits on a flat surface on its own with its wings raised in an open V, so it needs no stand and is not made for hanging.

What colour is the figurine?

The figurine is clear glass with rainbow stripes of red, orange, green and blue through each wing, so it sits happily with almost any colour scheme.

How should I clean the glass butterfly?

Dust it with a soft dry cloth, and when it needs more, wipe it gently with a damp cloth and dry it straight away to avoid water marks.

Where does the butterfly figurine look best?

It sits well on a desk, coffee table, side table, windowsill or bookshelf, where the colourful stripes add a cheerful note to a plain surface.
