pumpkin-ceramic-teapot-with-squirrel-knob-940ml-cream
Pumpkin Ceramic Teapot with Squirrel Knob 940ml - Cream

Description

This ceramic teapot takes the form of a plump, ribbed pumpkin, with a little squirrel perched on the lid as its knob. The body is glazed in cream and scattered with fine brown speckles, and the pumpkin theme carries through to every part: the handle curves like a woody stem in warm brown, and the spout is moulded like a curled leaf. The squirrel is sculpted in careful detail, sitting up with its paws tucked to its chest and a bushy, ridged tail curled behind it. Made from dolomite ceramic, it holds 940ml, a generous pot for sharing, and measures 13cm deep.

It is a teapot made to be used and left out on show. Set it on the breakfast table, bring it out for afternoon tea with friends, or keep it on the kitchen side between brews, where the cream glaze sits happily with neutral tableware. The pumpkin and squirrel give it a cosy, autumnal, countryside feel that suits a farmhouse kitchen and a cottage dresser as well as a modern home. It also makes a thoughtful housewarming gift, the kind of practical piece that turns the first cup of tea in a fresh kitchen into a small occasion.

The lid lifts off and sits neatly into the opening on a deep inner rim, and the squirrel doubles as the knob you lift it by. The glossy glaze picks up the light along the ribs and shows off the speckles, while the brown handle has a grained, woody look. As good practice for glazed ceramic, we wash it by hand in warm soapy water and dry it well, and we handle the squirrel gently, as it is a sculpted detail. Warm the pot with a splash of hot water before brewing, then bring it to the table with a plate of something baked, or wrap it up for a housewarming.

Specification

Material

Dolomite

Colour

Cream

Depth

13cm

Weight

0.563kg

Capacity

940ml

Occasion

New Home

Frequently Asked

How big is the squirrel teapot?

It holds 940ml and measures 13cm deep, a generous size for pouring tea for the table at breakfast or afternoon tea.

What is the pumpkin teapot made from?

It is made from dolomite ceramic with a glossy cream glaze scattered with brown speckles, and the handle has a warm brown, woody look.

Does the lid come off?

Yes, the lid lifts off fully and sits into the opening on a deep inner rim, with the sculpted squirrel serving as its knob.

How should I look after the teapot?

As good practice for glazed ceramic, we wash it by hand in warm soapy water, dry it well and handle the sculpted squirrel gently.

Is this teapot a good gift?

It makes a thoughtful housewarming gift, a useful piece for a fresh kitchen that also brings a little character and warmth to the table.
