portocolom-glass-10-light-pendant-brass-gold
Portocolom Glass 10 Light Pendant - Brass & Gold

Description

The Portocolom is a ten light pendant built as a cluster. A round steel ceiling plate in a brass and gold finish drops ten black cords, and each cord ends in a slim gold ring holding a white globe of matt opal glass. The rings come in varying sizes and hang at staggered heights, so the globes fall in a loose cascade rather than a tidy line. It measures 58cm in diameter and 150cm high overall. Each globe has its own integrated LED of 3W, giving 350lm per light at 3000K, a warm light. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

With that 150cm height, this pendant suits a room with ceiling height to spare: a stairwell, a double-height hallway or a tall dining room, where the globes can fill the space without crowding anyone. Hung over a dining table, it gives a soft glow, because opal glass diffuses light and keeps you from looking straight into a bright point. The brass and gold sits well with warm woods, pale walls and dark paint, while the black cords draw crisp lines between the plate and the rings. It is a good choice for anyone who wants one light to carry a whole room.

The body is steel, and the brass and gold finish on the rings has a softly textured, gilded look that catches the light. Because the LEDs are integrated, there are no bulbs to buy or change. The light is dimmable, so it can sink low for a late supper. There is no switch on the pendant itself: it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. The packed weight is 9.8KG, so a second pair of hands makes unpacking easier.

Specification

Overall Height

150cm

Diameter

58cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Brass, gold

Shade Material

Matt-opal glass

Shade Colour

White

Light Source

LED, integrated

Wattage

10 x 3W

Lumens

350lm per light (10 lights)

Colour Temperature

3000K

Dimmable

Yes

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Energy Class

F

Weight (packed)

9.8KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can this pendant go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for dry indoor rooms such as a dining room, hallway or stairwell, never a bathroom or anywhere outdoors.

How big is the Portocolom pendant?

It measures 58cm in diameter and 150cm high overall, so it is best in a room with generous ceiling height, such as a stairwell or tall dining room.

What colour is the light?

Each of the ten integrated LEDs gives 350lm at 3000K, a warm light that feels relaxed and welcoming in a dining room or hallway.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Yes, the light is dimmable.
