pomp-floral-baby-mobile-yellow
Pomp Floral Baby Mobile - Yellow

Description

This is a hanging mobile in the shape of a hot air balloon, and it is a generous size for a child's room: 85cm tall and 35cm across at the widest part of the balloon. The balloon is made of polyester in soft ribbed panels, covered all over with a dense pattern of small flowers and trailing stems on a yellow ground. Beneath it, a turned finial gathers the cords that carry a little woven basket, so the whole piece reads at once as a balloon in flight. Its materials are polyester, water hyacinth, iron, acacia and jute.

Its natural home is a nursery or a child's bedroom, hung where it can be seen from the bed or the rug. The yellow is soft rather than loud, so it sits easily with pale walls, natural wood and woven furniture, and the floral pattern gives a nursery a gentle point of interest. It also looks well in a window bay, where daylight picks out the shape of each panel. It makes a thoughtful present for a new baby or a child moving into a bigger room, and it is just as at home in a grown-up bedroom with a cottage feel.

The balloon is built from separate panels joined at fine seams, with a narrow band at the crown and another at the base, and a wire loop at the top takes the hanging. The cords are knotted together beneath the finial and run down to the rim of the basket, which is woven in thick, rounded plaits. Water hyacinth is a plant fibre that makes a chunky, textured weave, a warm contrast to the smooth fabric of the balloon. At 0.5KG it is light and easy to hang. Hang it a little off centre in the room, or in a window, so the basket catches the eye from the doorway. The styling props shown are not included.

Specification

Height

85cm

Diameter

35cm

Material

Polyester, Water Hyacinth, Iron, Acacia, Jute

Colour

Yellow

Weight

0.5KG

Safety

Keeping the product out of reach for children/

Frequently Asked

Which materials make up the mobile?

It is made from polyester, water hyacinth, iron, acacia and jute, combining a fabric balloon, a woven basket and a wire hanging loop.

How big is the mobile?

It is 85cm tall and 35cm across at the widest part of the balloon, a generous size for a nursery or a window bay.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 0.5KG, so it is light and easy to hang by the wire loop at the top of the balloon.

Is it a lamp?

No. It is a decorative mobile with no electrical parts, so there is no bulb, cable or switch; it is purely a decoration for the room.

How would you describe the pattern?

The yellow balloon is covered all over with a dense pattern of small flowers and trailing stems, set across soft ribbed panels.

Which rooms does it suit?

It suits a nursery or a child's bedroom best, and it also looks well in a window bay where daylight picks out each panel.
