polka-dot-christmas-tree-stoneware-mug-with-star-lid-green
Polka Dot Christmas Tree Stoneware Mug with Star Lid - Green

Description

This polka dot Christmas tree mug is made from stoneware and shaped like a little fir in three rounded tiers, with a lid that forms the top of the tree and finishes in a star. The glaze is a glossy deep green, scattered all over with small peach-toned dots that look like tiny baubles. A curved handle on one side gives a comfortable hold, and the lid lifts straight off, so the piece reads as a tree when it is closed and a mug when it is open. It stands 15.5cm tall, 15cm wide and 13cm deep, a generous size for a festive drink.

We picture it at the heart of Christmas morning: hot chocolate on the sofa, a mug of tea while the presents are opened, or something warm after a frosty walk. Between drinks it earns its place on a dresser shelf, a kitchen windowsill or the mantelpiece, where the star lid keeps the tree shape whole and brightens the room. It makes a cheerful Christmas gift on its own, tucked into a hamper or wrapped and left under the tree, and it is just as easy to keep for yourself as part of your own seasonal table.

The body and lid are both stoneware, finished in the same glossy glaze, with a fine warm-toned band where the lid sits on the rim. As good practice for glazed stoneware, we suggest washing it gently by hand in warm soapy water and drying it straight away, and carrying it by the handle rather than by the lid. Set the lid in place when the mug is not in use and it stands as a little green tree through December. For a gift with a surprise inside, fill it with a few wrapped sweets before you set the star lid on top.

Specification

Material

Stoneware

Colour

Green

Height

15.5cm

Width

15cm

Depth

13cm

Weight

0.611kg

Occasion

Christmas

Frequently Asked

How big is the Christmas tree mug?

It measures 15.5cm tall, 15cm wide and 13cm deep, a generous mug that holds its own on a shelf, a table or a windowsill.

What is the mug made of?

Both the mug and its lid are stoneware, finished in a glossy deep green glaze with small peach-toned dots all over the tree.

Does the lid come off?

Yes, the lid lifts straight off.
