A dark grey moulded lampholder with a threaded skirt and a broad shade ring, topped by a short plain cord entry. A fine cord runs out of a small eyelet in the side of the body and ends in a turned toggle of the same grey, so the light is worked at the fitting itself. The threaded skirt takes a shade ring, and the moulding carries the usual shallow ribs round its shoulder. The finish is a fine-grained matt grey, dark enough to read as black at a distance. There is nothing decorative on it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is the part everything else is built around: a shade goes over it, a flex runs into it, and the lamp you choose sets how the light reads. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.
