pixie-stoneware-cup-350ml-green
Pixie Stoneware Cup 350ml - Green

Description

This is a wide, low stoneware cup in green, 10cm across and 7cm tall, with a capacity of 350ml. That is a generous measure for a cup, with room for a large tea, a milky coffee or a hot chocolate on a slow morning. The body sits squat and broad and steps in gently towards the rim, and an open loop handle gives a comfortable grip. The reactive glaze is glossy and flecked with fine speckles, so the green looks deeper in some lights and softer in others.

Its low, wide shape keeps it steady on a breakfast table or a busy desk, and the broad mouth suits anyone who likes to cradle a warm drink in both hands. It earns its place as an everyday cup in the kitchen, and it is just as good on a tray carried through to the sitting room or out to a garden table on a mild afternoon. It also takes a small serving of soup or yoghurt when a bowl feels like too much. It would make a thoughtful gift for a keen tea drinker, or for anyone setting up a first kitchen.

Stoneware is a dense, hard-fired clay that holds heat well, and this cup is made entirely of it. It goes in the dishwasher and the microwave, so a coffee gone cold is easily warmed again, but it does not go in the oven. Reactive glazes settle differently in every firing, so expect the speckles and the depth of green to vary a little from one cup to the next; each one is its own. It weighs 0.319KG. For styling, set it on pale wood or a dark tabletop with plain linen, where the green glaze reads at its richest.

Specification

Height

7cm

Diameter

10cm

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Green

Finish

Reactive glaze

Capacity

350ml

Dishwasher safe

Yes

Microwave safe

Yes

Oven safe

No

Food safe

Yes

Weight

0.319KG

Frequently Asked

How much does this cup hold?

It holds 350ml, a generous measure for a cup that comfortably takes a large tea, a milky coffee or a hot chocolate.

Can it go in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes to both.
