The edge between them is a hard line, and the drum glows more brightly than the cone above. A short pale wood collar and a turned brass ring sit at the top where a fine white cable enters. The cream is warm and even and the shade is the widest of its form. It measures 72cm across and 40cm tall, in PVC and fabric, oak wood and metal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHang it so the bottom of the shade sits about 80cm above the surface, a little higher if people walk beneath it rather than sit under it. Hung at that height the shade is read as an object in the room rather than as a source, and the light lands on the table instead of in the eyes of the people round it.
