otoro-recycled-glass-pendant-light-smoke-large-oval
Otoro Large Oval Recycled Glass Pendant Light - Smoke

Description

The large oval Otoro in smoke is the tall egg at 48cm long and 31cm across, the longest shade in the range. The sides run almost straight through the middle before turning in at the top to a brass collar and at the bottom to an open rim. Unlit the glass is a cool grey that darkens down the body as the wall thickens. A brass chain runs up beside a rust coloured fabric flex to a brass ceiling rose.

A shade 48cm long fills vertical space rather than plan, which is what an entrance hall or a stairwell wants and what a low ceiling does not. Lit, the grey warms to bronze and the bulb is a clear point inside it; the open rim puts the light straight down on whatever is below. It weighs 5kg, so the ceiling fixing has to be a proper one. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, it is dimmable, the flex runs 1.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The glass is recycled and blown by hand into a mould, so the depth of the smoke and the wall thickness change from one shade to the next. The Otoro range runs to nineteen pieces: round and oval shades in small and large, in clear, green, smoke and honey, plus a cluster pendant and four wall lights. Bulbs are not included.

Specification

Height

48cm

Diameter

31cm

Material

Glass

Colour

Smoke

Recommended bulb

E27

Max watt

60W

Cord length

1.5m

Dimmable

Yes

IP Rating

IP20

Weight

5kg

Frequently Asked

How is it different from the small oval?

The small is 30cm long and 20cm across against 48cm and 31cm here, and 1.76kg against 5kg.

What does smoke look like when it is lit?

Warmer than it looks switched off.
