olympia-modern-block-shaggy-rug-black-white
Olympia Modern Block Shaggy Rug - Black / White

Description

Olympia is a modern shaggy rug in black, white and grey, laid out as a bold geometric lattice of interlocking blocks that cross the rug on the diagonal, rather like a basket weave on a large scale. It is machine made in polyester, and the pile is shaped by hand around each block, so the bands sit as raised panels with crisp edges between them. The multi textured pile pairs plush shag with a metallic effect yarn, which gives the grey blocks a gentle sheen.

This is a rug for the living room, where its strong contrast suits a modern scheme. We sell it in three sizes. The 80 by 150cm rug fits neatly beside an armchair or in front of a fireplace, and the 120 by 170cm size sits well in front of a sofa in a smaller room. The 160 by 220cm rug is large enough to anchor a seating area, with the front legs of the sofa and chairs resting on it.

The multi textured pile means this is not one flat shag: the hand shaped panels give the pattern real relief, so it reads clearly from across the room as well as underfoot. The metallic effect yarn adds a soft sheen rather than a flat finish, a good choice for a room that wants a little light at floor level. Before you order, measure the space and leave a border of bare floor around the rug, as that frame helps a pattern this bold stand out.

Usually dispatched within 3 to 5 working days.

Specification

Design

Olympia

Colour

Black / White

Sizes

80 x 150 cm, 120 x 170 cm, 160 x 220 cm

Material

Polyester

Construction

Machine made

Pile

Multi-textured

Suitable for

Living room

Features

Hand carved, Metallic effect yarn

Style

Modern

Dispatch

Usually dispatched within 3 to 5 working days

Frequently Asked

What sizes does the Olympia shaggy rug come in?

We offer it in three sizes: 80 by 150cm, 120 by 170cm and 160 by 220cm, all of them rectangular.

What is the Olympia rug made of?

It is machine made in polyester, with a multi textured shaggy pile and a metallic effect yarn that adds a soft sheen.

What colours are in this black and white rug?

It is black, white and grey, set out in interlocking diagonal blocks, with flecked charcoal panels sitting between the solid black and white ones.

How does the rug feel underfoot?

The shaggy pile is soft and plush, and because it is multi textured, the raised hand shaped panels give a gently varied feel underfoot.

Which room is this shaggy rug best suited to?

We recommend it for the living room.
