A plain metal collar caps the top with a round ring set into it, and a long printed fabric tie is knotted through the ring. The freckling falls differently on every bauble, so the green runs deep in some places and thins almost to bare glass in others.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 15cm across this is a large decoration by any measure, and it is the smaller of the two Oko giants; the other is 20cm. One of them on a tree fills the space several ordinary baubles would, and at 0.41kg it needs a branch close to the trunk rather than a tip. The tie is long, so the bauble hangs well below whatever it is knotted to, which lets a pair hang at two heights against a wall rather than on a tree at all.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe glass is recycled. Waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is blown, and the irregular mottled patterning comes out of that process rather than being put on afterwards.
