The matt green surface carries a heavy rust freckling that gathers in drifts rather than spreading evenly, and the colour turns towards gold where the light runs across the curve. The top is capped with a plain metal collar carrying a round ring, and a long printed fabric tie runs through it.

At 20cm across this is the larger of the two Oko giants; the other is 15cm. On a tree it needs a strong branch close to the trunk, because at 0.61kg it will pull a thin one down. Off the tree the long tie lets it hang well below a bannister rail, a beam or a curtain pole, and at this size one on its own is enough in a doorway or a window.

The glass is recycled, collected as waste, washed to remove impurities, then crushed, melted down and blown by hand; the mottled patterning is a product of that process rather than anything applied afterwards. The collar is iron. Matt gold, matt bordeaux and matt teal are made in the same two sizes.

Specification

Height

20cm

Diameter

20cm

Material

Glass & Iron

Colour

Matt Green

Weight

0.61kg

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

20cm across.
