It takes the electric cable from the point where it leaves the ceiling and holds it at a second point, so the light drops where you want it rather than where the ceiling outlet happens to be. It is a neat, compact piece: a round disc that sits flat against the ceiling, a short, slim cylinder beneath it and a clear clamp at its foot that grips the line hanging down. It measures 4.2cm by 2cm, so it reads as a quiet detail rather than a second fitting, and it comes in white or black.

We suggest it wherever the ceiling point and the place you want the light do not line up: a pendant brought over the centre of a dining table, a reading light moved across to an armchair, or a light shifted to the middle of a hallway or bedroom when the original point sits off to one side. It is for indoor use only, and as it carries no IP rating it belongs in dry rooms. Choose white to sit quietly against a pale ceiling, or black where you want it to match a dark cable or a darker ceiling.

Its construction is simple and easy to read: a smooth, plain disc and cylinder in the finish you choose, with a clear clamp that lets the line pass through without drawing the eye. It is an accessory rather than a light, so it gives no light of its own; it simply carries the cable of a pendant. Before you order, settle on where you want the light to hang and pick the finish that suits your ceiling. The pendant cable in our photographs is not included. Our photographs show the white version.

Specification

Finish

White & Black

Size

4.2 x 2cm

Lead time

Made to order, usually delivered in 4 to 8 weeks

Frequently Asked

What does the Offset for Electric Cable do?

It holds the electric cable of a pendant at a second point on the ceiling, so the light can hang away from the original ceiling outlet.

What finishes does the cable offset come in?

It comes in white or black, so you can match it to a pale or dark ceiling, or to the colour of your cable.

How big is the Offset for Electric Cable?

It measures 4.2cm by 2cm, small enough to sit as a quiet detail on the ceiling once the pendant is hanging.

Can I use the cable offset in a bathroom?

No. It carries no IP rating, so it is for use in dry rooms indoors only and nowhere it could be splashed.

Does the offset give any light itself?

No. It is a lighting accessory rather than a light, so it gives no light of its own and simply carries the cable of a pendant.

How long will it take to arrive?

It is made to order for you, so it is usually delivered in 4 to 8 weeks.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0729/8993/3835/files/01_lead_5720ca3f-103f-4b19-a74f-54c560e18809.jpg?v=1791751378
