north-wall-shelf-white
North Wall Shelf - White

Description

The North wall shelf gives you two white shelves held between a pair of ladder-style side frames, a simple, open form that keeps a wall feeling light rather than crowded. It measures 65cm long, 15cm wide and 35cm tall, so it is a modest wall shelf rather than a bookcase: long enough for a row of paperbacks or a run of small objects, and shallow enough to sit close to the wall without jutting out into a hallway or over a desk. It is made from 60% MDF and 40% iron, and the whole piece weighs 2.3KG.

Hung over a desk, it becomes a home for the things you reach for every day: a clock, a few notebooks, a ball of string, a small vase. In a hallway it gives you a landing spot for a small tray, a candle and a framed print, and in a living room or bedroom it lets a short run of books and favourite pieces sit at eye level. The open sides mean nothing is boxed in, so small objects stay easy to see, and the clean white sits quietly against a pale wall while standing out crisply against a darker one.

The finish is powder coated and water-based paint, and care is simple: wipe it clean with a moist cloth to lift dust from the shelves and the rungs. Each side frame has horizontal rungs running up its length, with small brackets on the frames for fixing it to the wall. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you can see how it goes together before you start. For styling, give the lower shelf the flatter things such as books and boxes, and let the top shelf carry a few taller pieces with space around them; the styling props shown are not included.

Specification

Width

65cm

Depth

15cm

Height

35cm

Material

60% MDF, 40% Iron

Colour

White

Finish

Powder coated/Water based paint

Care

Wipe clean with a moist cloth

Weight

2.3KG

Downloads

Assembly instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

What is the North wall shelf made of?

It is made from 60% MDF and 40% iron, with a finish the maker gives as powder coated and water-based paint, and it weighs 2.3KG.

How big is the shelf?

It is 65cm long, 15cm wide and 35cm tall, which makes it a shallow wall shelf suited to paperbacks, candles, small frames and other compact pieces.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it clean with a moist cloth.
