noia-bamboo-parasol-natural
Noia Bamboo Parasol - Natural

Description

Our Noia parasol is a thatched canopy of palm leaves on a bamboo pole, and it brings a relaxed beach bar feel to an ordinary garden. The canopy is 160cm across and the parasol stands 204cm tall, with the palm leaves layered thickly over the top and left loose at the edge, where they hang in a deep, shaggy fringe. Bamboo and palm leaf are the only materials the maker lists, both left in a natural finish, so it reads as something grown rather than manufactured.

This is a parasol for a patio, a terrace, a gravel corner of the garden or the edge of a lawn: anywhere you want a patch of shade over a seat and a spot that feels a little like a holiday. At 160cm across, the canopy suits a small table with a pair of chairs, a lounger or a single reading chair rather than a long dining table, which makes it a good size for smaller gardens and courtyards. At 9.5KG it is a manageable weight to carry from one part of the garden to another as the sun moves round.

Underneath, slim ribs radiate from a central hub to carry the thatch, and the bamboo pole shows its natural joints, with wrapped bindings at intervals along its length. Because the canopy is real palm leaf, the fringe varies a little from one parasol to the next and the ends are uneven by nature rather than trimmed straight. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you can see how it goes together in advance. For styling, pair it with rattan or wicker seating, soft cushions and a low wooden table, and let the thatch be the one textured piece that pulls a seating area together.

Specification

Height

204cm

Diameter

160cm

Material

Bamboo, Palm Leaves

Colour

Natural

Legs

Bamboo

Weight

9.5KG

Downloads

Assembly instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

What is the parasol made of?

The maker lists bamboo and palm leaves: a bamboo pole carrying a thatched canopy of palm leaves, all in a natural finish.

How big is the parasol?

The canopy is 160cm across and the parasol stands 204cm tall, a good size for a small table and a pair of chairs.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 9.5KG, a manageable weight to carry from one spot in the garden to another as the sun moves round.

Are there assembly instructions?

Yes.
