A small clear glass ball pressed all over with a deep diamond cut, the facets tiny and regular so the surface breaks into hundreds of points. The glass is water clear with no tint at all, so the lamp inside shows straight through as a bright core and the cut throws the light out in fine sparks across the ceiling. A small black cap closes the top and carries a plain black flex. The ball is drawn in slightly at the top where it meets the cap, and left open at the bottom. It is small enough to hang in a run. It measures 12cm across.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA shade this small works better in a run of two or three over an island than alone in the middle of a ceiling, where it reads as an accent rather than the main light. Hang it so the bottom of the shade sits about 80cm above the surface, a little higher if people walk beneath it rather than sit under it.
