nesmessa-outdoor-wall-light-black
Nesmessa Outdoor Wall Light - Black

Description

The Nesmessa is an outdoor wall light in the shape of a classic box lantern: a black steel frame holding clear glass panels, carried on a slim upright backplate that sits flat against the wall. It is 27cm high and 12cm long, and it stands 16.5cm out from the wall, a compact size that suits a front door, a porch or a side passage without crowding them. It takes a single E27 bulb of up to 40W, which is not included, so the choice of bulb is yours. The IP44 rating settles where it can live: it is protected from splashing water, so it belongs on an outside wall, out in the weather.

We think it looks most at home beside a front door, over a back door that opens onto a patio, or along a garden wall where a path needs a little light after dark. The straight lines and plain black frame suit a modern house as easily as an older brick cottage, and a pair either side of a doorway gives an entrance a balanced, welcoming look. With clear glass on the front and both sides, the bulb is on view, so it becomes part of the design: a clear filament bulb in warm white gives the lantern a soft glow on the wall.

The body is steel in a black finish and the shade is clear glass. There is no switch on the light itself; it is switched at the wall. It is a wired mains fitting running on 220-240V at 50/60Hz, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download. The packed weight is 1.748KG. Steel holds its shape well, which suits a lantern with this many straight edges. When you order, add an E27 bulb of up to 40W, since none comes in the box.

Specification

Length

12cm

Height

27cm

Projection

16.5cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Black

Shade Material

Glass

Shade Colour

Clear

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 40W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP44

Protection Class

Class I

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

1.748KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Nesmessa go on an outside wall?

Yes.
