The beads are hand carved and the wood is not sorted for colour, so pale cream, tan and red brown run down the same string together. A brass chain and ceiling plate sit above, with a black flex through the links. The beaded body is 58.5cm deep and the frame 45cm across; with the chain at full length the whole fitting hangs 165cm.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTwo brass lampholders sit on a bar inside the frame at the widest part, so the bulbs are surrounded by beads rather than covered by them. Light passes between the strings and breaks into small points and bands on the wall and the ceiling around it. It hangs long, so it suits a stairwell, a hallway, or a dining table in a room with the ceiling height to take it.
