narwana-ribbed-leather-armchair-aged-tan
Narwana Ribbed Leather Armchair - Aged Tan

Description

An armchair upholstered in aged tan leather, 87cm tall and 85cm across. The back cushion and the seat are both channelled into narrow vertical ribs that run the full depth of each panel, while the arms, the outside back and the front are left as plain leather. The arms roll outward into a scroll at the front, and the chair stands on turned wood feet, with a brass castor under each of the two at the front and plain feet at the back.

The seat sits 48cm off the floor and runs 54cm deep, so it is a chair to sit back into rather than perch on, and the back rises 39cm above the seat. At 85cm wide and 81cm deep it takes its own floor space rather than a place in a row, which puts it beside a fire, in a bay window or at the corner of a rug. The two castors at the front let it be swung round to face a different way without lifting the back of the chair off the floor.

The chair is leather over a wood frame. The tan is not laid on evenly: it runs darker where the hide folds over the arm rolls and along the seams and paler across the flat panels, and the grain and markings of the hide are left showing rather than corrected to one tone, so no two chairs come out alike. The feet are turned wood, darker than the leather. Narwana runs to a lounger, a foot stool, two sizes of stool, a round stool, a desk chair and a bar chair.

Specification

Height

87cm

Width

85cm

Depth

81cm

Seat Height

48cm

Seat Width

48cm

Seat Depth

54cm

Material

Leather & Wood

Colour

Aged Tan

Weight

30kg

Frequently Asked

How high is the seat?

48cm off the floor.
