A round plate fixes on two bolts, a short stem drops from it to a knurled brass collar, and the cone widens from there to a plain open rim 19.5cm across. The brass is heavily aged, dark and mottled, with the marks running differently over every part of it. It is 18.5cm tall and takes up 21cm of wall depth.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause the shade hangs below the plate and is solid, everything goes downward: the wall above stays dark and the light lands in a defined pool underneath. Lit, the bulb shows in the rim. It suits a hallway, a bedroom or a living room where a pool of light is wanted rather than a wash.
