my-relationship-with-whisky-is-on-the-rocks-slate-coaster-black
My Relationship with Whisky Is on the Rocks Slate Coaster - Black

Description

This square slate coaster carries a wry little joke in pale grey lettering: my relationship with whisky is on the rocks. The words mix bold capitals with looping script, with ROCKS set inside a plaque-style panel and a curling flourish beneath, all against the deep black of the slate. It measures 10cm across each way and 1cm deep, a size that comfortably takes a tumbler, a wine glass or a mug. The edges are left rough rather than polished, giving the square a rugged outline that suits the old-fashioned lettering.

It belongs wherever a drink is set down: beside a favourite armchair, on a home bar, a sideboard or a desk where the day ends with a nightcap. The pun works best where people gather, and it tends to get a laugh the moment a guest puts a glass on it. Black and grey sit easily with dark wood, leather and brass, and just as well in a brighter, modern room, while the square shape lines up neatly on a shelf or a tray. As a gift it needs no explanation: the joke does the work, and a slate coaster is something that gets used every day rather than tucked away in a drawer.

The coaster is a single flat square of slate, 1cm deep, so it sits steady on a table and gives a glass a firm, level base. The lettering stands out in soft grey against the black face, easy to read from across a table. Looking after it is simple: wipe it with a damp cloth after use, let it dry fully, and dust it with a soft dry cloth between times, as you would any slate. We like it set out on a tray beside a bottle and a heavy tumbler, or wrapped alongside a favourite bottle as a gift that raises a smile.

Specification

Colour

Black

Size

10 x 10cm

Depth

1cm

Weight

0.122kg

Frequently Asked

How big is this slate coaster?

It measures 10cm across each way and 1cm deep, so there is plenty of room for a whisky tumbler, a wine glass or a mug.

What does the coaster say?

It reads MY RELATIONSHIP with WHISKY is on the ROCKS, in pale grey lettering that mixes bold capitals with looping script on the black slate.

What is the coaster made of?

The coaster is made of slate, a flat square with roughly finished edges that give it a rugged outline.

How should I clean the coaster?

Wipe it with a damp cloth after use and let it dry fully, then dust it with a soft dry cloth as needed.

What colour is the coaster?

The slate is black, and the lettering and flourishes stand out in a soft pale grey that is easy to read.

Would this coaster make a good gift?

Yes, the whisky joke makes it an easy gift that raises a smile, and it is a coaster that gets used every day.
