moony-round-wooden-wall-mirror-40cm-multi
Moony Round Wooden Wall Mirror 40cm - Multi

Description

This round wall mirror turns the moon into a sleepy character. A crescent face with a closed, lashed eye and a dotted nightcap curls around one side of the circle, and the mirror fills the rest in a crescent of its own. It is 40cm across and made of plywood and polypropylene, with the natural grain of the plywood left showing on the moon's cheek. The look is multicoloured but soft, more picture book than poster, so it reads as a piece of decor first and a mirror second.

We see it in a nursery or a child's bedroom, where it does two jobs at once: it gives the wall a friendly face, and it gives a small person a place to catch their own reflection. At 40cm across it is a mirror for faces and smiles rather than a full-length dressing mirror, so it suits a wall at a child's eye level, beside a changing table, a reading nook or the door where the morning routine begins. Because the moon is drawn simply rather than as a cartoon, it can stay on the wall as a child grows older.

Plywood is made from thin layers of wood bonded together with the grain crossing, which helps a flat piece stay flat. The moon's face and nightcap meet the mirror along a curved line, so the whole piece reads as a single flat disc on the wall, with a contrasting band marking the brim of the cap and a small circle at its tip. It weighs 0.83KG. It arrives in a flat card box printed with a line drawing of the moon, which makes it an easy present to wrap. For styling, give it a plain wall, or pair it with a mobile or a couple of framed prints in quieter tones so the moon stays the main character. The styling props shown are not included.

Specification

Depth

1cm

Diameter

40cm

Material

Plywood, Polypropylene

Colour

Multi

Weight

0.83KG

Frequently Asked

What is the moon mirror made of?

It is made of plywood and polypropylene, the two materials the maker lists.
