miniature-spotted-goldfish-glass-figurine-orange
Miniature Spotted Goldfish Glass Figurine - Orange

Description

This miniature goldfish figurine is made from glass in a bright orange, small enough to sit in the palm of your hand. Its body is flecked with patches of pale blue and white, and a round black and white eye sits on each side of its head, with a little pouting mouth at the front. A tall fin rises from its back, a forked tail sweeps out behind, and the smaller fins underneath are lined with fine ridges that catch the light. It stands 5.5cm tall, 7cm wide and 3cm deep, so it takes up very little room wherever you put it.

Because it is so small, this goldfish suits the spots where a larger ornament would crowd things. On a windowsill the daylight comes through the orange glass and makes it glow, and it is just as happy on a bookshelf, a desk, a mantelpiece or a bedside table. In a display cabinet it adds a cheerful flash of colour among other small glass pieces, and on a bathroom shelf it gives a gentle nod to the water. It also makes a small, easy gift: light to wrap, simple to send, and the kind of bright little piece people keep on show for years.

Being glass, it is a decorative piece to handle with a little care. The lower fins splay out beneath the body and it rests on them, so it sits on a flat shelf with no stand needed. Dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away. Set it back from the edge where it will not be knocked, and near a window or a lamp so the light shows off the colour in its fins and tail.

Specification

Material

Glass

Colour

Orange

Height

5.5cm

Width

7cm

Depth

3cm

Weight

0.08kg

Frequently Asked

How big is the glass goldfish figurine?

It stands 5.5cm tall, 7cm wide and 3cm deep, a true miniature that fits on even a narrow shelf or windowsill.

What is it made from and what colour is it?

It is made from glass in a bright orange, with flecks of pale blue and white on the body and a black and white eye on each side.

Does the goldfish stand up on its own?

It rests on its splayed lower fins, so it sits on a flat shelf, desk or windowsill without needing a separate stand.

How should I clean the figurine?

Dust it with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away, handling it with care as you would any glass.

Where does it look best?

We like it on a windowsill or near a lamp, where light passes through the orange glass and picks out the ridged fins and tail.
