mini-compass-round-bulkhead-light-ip44-raw-brass
Mini Compass Round Bulkhead Light IP44 - Raw Brass

Description

The Mini Compass is a small round bulkhead light in solid brass with a raw brass finish, its domed frosted ribbed glass set into a porthole ring. The maker calls it a small porthole 'spider' bulkhead, a fair name for the brass lugs around the rim. At 14cm in diameter and 6cm deep it sits close to the wall and fits where a larger bulkhead would crowd the space. Rated IP44, it is protected against splashing water from any direction, so it can live outdoors on a house wall, or go into a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

Its size suits the places a bigger light would overpower: beside a front or back door, inside a porch, along a garden wall or on a boathouse or shed. The maker designed its bulkheads for outdoor settings where an industrial or nautical effect is wanted, and this one has the round look of a ship's porthole. It suits a coastal cottage or a converted warehouse. The maker says the maritime influence of its range shows in the materials, the designs and even the names. With no cage or guard across the glass the face stays clean and open, and the maker says leaving the guard off gives a higher light output.

Solid brass darkens and mellows outdoors, so the bright gold of new raw brass deepens into a warmer tone. The cable enters through a gland at the side. It takes one G9 lamp of up to 25W, not included, so add a G9 bulb to your order. The maker says thumb-turn fixings are supplied, so the glass comes away easily when the lamp needs changing. It weighs 0.63KG, so it is easy to hold steady while it is fixed. As with any mains light, a qualified electrician should install it. Keep a spare G9 lamp in a drawer and a change takes a moment.

Specification

Finish

Raw Brass

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Frosted Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x G9 25W Max (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP44

Diameter

14cm

Depth

6cm

Cable Entry

Cable Gland at the Side

Weight

0.63KG

Supply

220–240V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE & UKCA as applicable

Country of Origin

Greece

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Mini Compass be used outdoors?

Yes.
