It carries the same deep matt black dome with a pale lining as the table lamp in the range, here on a slim black arm that comes out from a small rectangular wall plate and curves upward, so the shade sits proud of the wall and turns along it or out into the room on its brass pivot. The bulb is visible up inside the dome. The flex loops out of the top of the shade, runs down alongside the arm and drops below the wall plate, on show rather than chased into the wall. The plate itself fixes with two visible screws.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA wall light earns its place by leaving the surface below it clear. Beside a bed where there is no room for a table lamp, over a work bench, up a stairwell or either side of a mirror, it gives directed light without taking up any space.
