meridian-plain-velvet-cushion-raspberry-teal-55x55cm
Meridian Plain Velvet Cushion - Raspberry/Teal

Description

This is the Meridian cushion in raspberry velvet, a larger than average square that reads as one clean block of colour on both faces. The pile is a soft velvet fabric woven from 100% polyester, and what makes it its own thing rather than any other plain cushion is the contrasting piped edge: a slim border of vibrant teal that runs all the way round, framing the pink and picking out the shape of the cushion against whatever it sits on. Front and reverse are both plain, so it looks finished from any angle. It measures 55 by 55cm.

A cushion at this size is a sofa cushion first. The 55cm square has enough body to fill the corner of a settee or to sit against the arm without looking lost, and the plain face means it works as a calm anchor among busier prints or as a bright note on a neutral sofa. The teal piping is doing real work here: it gives you a second colour to bridge to, so a raspberry cushion can pull towards teal and green schemes as easily as pink ones. It is part of the wider Meridian range, where the same plain velvet face comes with different contrasting pipe colours, so you can build a set that talks to itself across a sofa or a bed.

The cover is finished with a piped trim and a zip closure, so it slips off for cleaning and back on again without fuss. Being polyester, the fabric is hard-wearing and holds its colour well, which suits a cushion that gets sat against daily. Style it in a pair for symmetry at each end of a sofa, or mix the raspberry with the teal, amber and green pipe options from the same range for a considered spread of colour rather than a single accent.

Specification

Material

100% polyester velvet

Design

Plain front and reverse with contrasting teal piped border

Construction

Piped trim, zip closure

Size

55x55cm

Frequently Asked

What is the cover made from?

The cover is 100% polyester in a soft velvet fabric, which gives it the plush hand of velvet while staying hard-wearing and holding its colour through regular use.

Does the cover come off for cleaning?

Yes, there is a zip closure along one edge, so the cover slips off the pad easily and goes back on again without any struggle.

What colour is the piping?

The piped border is a vibrant teal blue that runs all the way round the edge, contrasting with the raspberry pink velvet on both the front and the reverse.

How big is this cushion?

It is a 55 by 55cm square, larger than an average scatter cushion, so it has real presence on a sofa or against the head of a bed.

Can I match it with other cushions?

Yes, it belongs to the Meridian range, where the same plain velvet face comes with different contrasting pipe colours, so you can build a coordinated set across a sofa.
