meridian-plain-velvet-cushion-pumpkin-mocha-55x55cm
Meridian Plain Velvet Cushion - Pumpkin/Mocha

Description

This is a plain velvet cushion from the Meridian range, made from 100% polyester with a soft, velvet-feel pile. The face and the reverse are a warm pumpkin orange, framed by a contrasting piped border in a deep mocha brown. It measures 55 x 55cm, which is larger than the everyday 45cm square most sofas are dressed with, so it reads as a generous, filled cushion rather than a slim scatter one.

A 55cm cushion earns its place at the back of a sofa or across the head of a bed, where its size holds the corner and gives you something substantial to lean into. The pumpkin orange sits happily against neutral linen sofas, dark green or navy upholstery, and natural wood, while the mocha piping picks up leather and warmer browns already in a room. Because both sides carry the same colour, there is no right way round to plump it, and it works as well singly on an armchair as it does in a pair on a longer settee.

The cover closes with a zip, so it can be taken off the pad, and the piped edge gives the seam a defined, finished line that helps the cushion keep its shape. Polyester velvet is chosen here for its softness and its hard-wearing nature, holding colour well and standing up to everyday use in a busy living room. The Meridian range runs across a set of rich, complementary colourways with the same piped construction, so you can build a mix of tones knowing the shapes and finish will match.

Specification

Material

100% polyester velvet

Design

Plain, pumpkin orange face and reverse with mocha piped border

Construction

Piped edge, zip closure

Size

55x55cm

Sold as

Single cushion

Frequently Asked

Does the cushion come with a pad or is it a cover only?

The zip closure means the cover can be removed from the pad, so please check the listing option before ordering if you need the insert included.

What does the mocha piping actually look like?

It is a fine contrasting cord sewn into the seam all the way round, giving a defined brown line that frames the pumpkin orange face and reverse.

How big is this compared with a standard cushion?

At 55 x 55cm it is larger than the common 45cm scatter cushion, so it fills the back corner of a sofa more generously and feels more substantial.

Is the velvet the same colour on both sides?

Yes, the front and the reverse are both the same pumpkin orange velvet, so there is no wrong side and you can plump and turn it freely.

What is the fabric made from?

The cover is 100% polyester with a velvet feel, which keeps it soft to the touch while being durable enough for daily use in a living room.
