meridian-plain-velvet-cushion-moss-emerald-55x55cm
Meridian Plain Velvet Cushion - Moss/Emerald

Description

This is a large plain velvet cushion from the Meridian range, measuring 55 x 55cm. The face and reverse are a warm moss green with a soft, dense velvet-feel pile, and the whole cushion is finished with a contrasting piped border in a deep emerald green. It is made from 100% polyester, which gives a velvet with a bright, even sheen and a good deal of practical durability behind the softness.

At 55cm square this sits at the larger end of the scale, so it works as an anchor cushion on a sofa or a bed rather than a small accent. The plain colour and the piped edge mean it pairs easily with patterned pieces without competing with them, and the two-tone treatment lets you tie it to other colours already in the room. The Meridian range runs to several complementary colourways, each with its own contrast pipe, so cushions can be mixed and layered while still reading as a set. A single moss cushion softens a neutral chair; a pair frames a bed.

The cover has a piped trim running around all four edges and a zip closure, so it can be taken off the pad when needed. Polyester velvet holds its colour well and resists crushing better than many natural piles, which suits a cushion that will be leaned on and moved about. Because the piping is a separate colour from the body, keep the orientation in mind when you dress a group: here the moss body carries an emerald pipe, and other cushions in the range reverse or vary that pairing. Layer it with plainer textures and let the sheen of the velvet do the work.

Specification

Material

100% polyester velvet

Design

Plain, with contrasting piped border

Construction

Piped trim, zip closure

Size

55x55cm

Sold as

Single cushion

Frequently Asked

How big is this cushion?

It measures 55 x 55cm, which is at the larger end of the range and works well as a main cushion on a sofa or bed rather than a small accent.

What is the cover made from?

The cover is 100% polyester with a soft velvet-feel pile.
