meridian-plain-velvet-cushion-dove-charcoal-55x55cm
Meridian Plain Velvet Cushion - Dove/Charcoal

Description

This is a plain velvet cushion from the Meridian range, measuring 55 by 55cm. It is a large, square cushion with a soft velvet-feel face in a pale dove silver, finished all the way round with a contrasting piped edge in a deeper charcoal grey. The face and reverse are both plain, so there is no pattern to line up and no right or wrong way to sit it on a chair. It closes with a zip, which means the cover can come off the pad when you need it to.

A cushion this size earns its place at the corner of a sofa or propped against the headboard of a bed, where it gives you something substantial to lean into rather than a token square that disappears behind you. The neutral dove and charcoal reads as a quiet, grounding pair, so it works against a strong sofa colour without competing with it, and it sits comfortably alongside both warmer neutrals and cooler greys. Two of them at either end of a settee make a balanced arrangement.

The cover is made of 100% polyester with a velvet-feel pile, which is what gives it that light-catching sheen and soft hand. Polyester holds its colour well and resists the fading and shrinking that can trouble natural fibres, so it stays looking as it should through everyday use. The piped trim runs a firm, defined line around the seam, which helps the cushion keep its shape and its crisp square edge. Because the front and back match, you can turn and rotate it freely to even out wear. Other colourways in the Meridian range carry the same plain velvet face with a different contrasting pipe, so you can mix and match across a room without breaking the theme.

Specification

Material

100% Polyester

Design

Plain velvet face and reverse, contrasting piped border

Construction

Velvet-feel pile, piped trim, zip closure

Size

55 x 55cm

Frequently Asked

Does the cover come off for cleaning?

Yes, this cushion has a zip closure, so the cover can be taken off the inner pad when you need to clean or replace it.

Is the front different from the back?

No, the face and reverse are both plain velvet in the same dove silver, so you can turn or rotate the cushion however you like.

What does the velvet feel like?

It is a soft velvet-feel polyester pile, which gives a smooth hand and a gentle sheen that shifts as the light moves across it.

How big is this cushion?

It measures 55 by 55cm, which is a large square, so it gives you something substantial to lean against rather than a small accent square.

What is the piped edge for?

The contrasting charcoal piping runs around the seam to define the shape and help the cushion hold a crisp, square edge through use.
