meridian-plain-velvet-cushion-cranberry-mocha-45x45
Meridian Plain Velvet Cushion - Cranberry/Mocha

Description

This is a plain velvet cushion from the Meridian range, made from 100% polyester and finished with a contrasting piped edge. The face and reverse are a deep cranberry pink, with the piping worked in a mocha brown that traces the whole seam. At 45 x 45cm it is a large, square cushion, and the side view shows how fully it fills out once the pad is in, so you get a plump, generous shape rather than a flat panel.

A square velvet cushion this size earns its place on a sofa, a bed or a wide armchair, where it gives support behind the back as well as something soft to lean into. The plain face keeps it easy to live with, so it sits happily against patterned throws or a mix of smaller cushions without competing for attention. The cranberry ground is warm and saturated, which makes it a good anchor colour in a scheme that already has a lot going on, and the mocha piping picks up brown or neutral tones elsewhere in the room.

The cover is velvet on both sides, so there is no wrong way to plump it, and the piped trim gives the edges definition and helps them hold a crisp line. A zip closure means the cover comes off for washing and the pad can be replaced when it eventually softens. Being polyester, the pile is hard-wearing and shrugs off everyday knocks and squashing, which is what you want from a cushion that gets used rather than admired. The Meridian range runs to several complementary colourways with the same piped construction, so you can build a set that reads as one family across a sofa.

Specification

Material

100% polyester velvet

Design

Plain, with contrasting mocha piped edge

Construction

Piped trim, zip closure

Size

45x45cm

Sold as

Single cushion

Frequently Asked

Does this cushion come with an inner pad?

The record does not confirm whether a pad is included, so please check before ordering if you need the filling as well as the cover.

Can I take the cover off to clean it?

Yes, there is a zip closure along one edge, so the cover slides off the pad for cleaning or for swapping in a fresh pad later on.

What does the velvet feel like?

It is a soft polyester velvet with a short pile, warm to the touch and hard-wearing, which suits a cushion that gets sat against day to day.

Is it a large cushion?

At 45 x 45cm it is a full-sized square cushion, big enough to give proper support on a sofa or a bed rather than being purely decorative.

Will it match other cushions in the range?

The Meridian range shares the same plain-face-with-piped-edge construction across several colourways, so you can group a few together for a coordinated look.
