meridian-plain-velvet-cushion-black-gold-45x45
Meridian Plain Velvet Cushion - Black/Gold

Description

This is a plain velvet cushion in black, finished with a contrasting piped border in gold. It measures 45 x 45cm, which the supplier describes as a larger than average size, so it fills a sofa corner or a bed head with more presence than the usual 40cm scatter cushion. The face and the reverse are both plain, so it reads the same however it lands, and the single line of gold piping traces the whole edge to frame the black.

A cushion like this earns its place on a dark or neutral sofa, where the deep black velvet catches light across its pile and the gold cord picks up the warmth of brass lamps, picture frames or a metal side table. It suits a living room styled around a restrained palette, and it works equally on a bedroom chair or across the foot of a bed. Because both sides match, you can plump and drop it without ever needing to check which way it faces, which makes it an easy one to live with rather than fuss over.

The cover is made from 100% polyester with a soft velvet feel, chosen because polyester holds its colour well and stands up to regular use without the pile flattening quickly. The gold piped trim is stitched into the seam and gives the edge a defined line that separates the cushion cleanly from whatever it sits against. It fastens with a zip closure, so the cover can be taken off. The Meridian range runs to several plain colourways with complementary piping, so you can build a set that coordinates rather than matches exactly.

Specification

Material

100% polyester

Design

Plain black velvet with contrasting gold piped border

Construction

Piped trim, zip closure

Size

45x45cm

Frequently Asked

What is the cushion cover made from?

The cover is 100% polyester with a soft velvet feel, which holds its colour well and stands up to everyday use on a sofa or bed.

Does the cushion look the same on both sides?

Yes, it has a plain front and a plain reverse in the same black velvet, so it reads identically whichever way it faces on your seating.

Can I remove the cover?

The cushion has a zip closure along one edge, so the cover can be unzipped and taken off the pad whenever you need to.

How big is the cushion?

It measures 45 x 45cm, which the supplier calls a larger than average size, giving it more fill and presence than a standard 40cm scatter cushion.

Will it coordinate with other cushions?

It belongs to the Meridian range, which offers several plain colourways with contrasting piping, so you can build a coordinated set rather than an exact match.
