merchant-flush-oval-bulkhead-light-ip64-raw-brass
Merchant Flush Oval Bulkhead Light IP64 - Raw Brass

Description

The Merchant is a compact oval bulkhead in raw brass: a flush wall light with a brass cage across clear ribbed glass. The body is solid brass with a polyamide back plate, and four fixing lugs, two at each end, hold it close to the wall. It is 20cm long, 13.5cm wide and 8cm deep and weighs 0.81KG, so it fits a narrow strip of wall beside a door where a bigger lantern would crowd the frame. The IP64 rating settles the outdoor question: it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it can live outside through every season of British weather.

Put it beside a front door, in a porch, along a garden wall or on a boathouse, anywhere a small, sturdy light earns its place. The maker says these bulkheads are designed for outdoor spots that call for an industrial or nautical look, and describes this one as a traditional light that is often used indoors too, in corridors and washrooms. With IP64 it can go in a bathroom, and a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. The cage and the ribbed glass give it the practical character of a ship's deck light, and the maker says the maritime influence shows in the range's materials, designs and even names. It suits a coastal cottage as well as a plain modern house.

Brass left raw darkens and mellows outdoors, so expect its bright golden colour to settle into a deeper, warmer tone over the seasons. The cable enters at the rear, so it can run straight from the wall into the light, out of sight. The Merchant takes one E27 (ES) lamp up to 18W, and the lamp is not included. As a mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. Choose the lamp when you order the light, and everything is ready on the day of fitting.

Specification

Finish

Raw Brass

Material

Brass with Polyamide Reverse Plate

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES) 18W Max (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP64

Width

13.5cm

Length

20cm

Depth

8cm

Cable Entry

At the Rear

Weight

0.81KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE

Country of Origin

European Union

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Merchant bulkhead be used outdoors?

Yes.
