marlinspike-garden-spike-light-ip64-satin-nickel
Marlinspike Garden Spike Light IP64 - Satin Nickel

Description

The Marlinspike is a compact garden spike light: a cylindrical spotlight head on an adjustable bracket, set on a pointed stake that holds it in the ground. The body is solid brass in a satin nickel finish, a soft brushed silver that sits quietly against foliage and stone. The maker says it is solid brass throughout, the spike included, and it weighs 0.83KG. It is 6cm in diameter, and the maker gives the body length as 146mm and the spike as 210mm. Rated IP64, it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it can stay outdoors in British weather all year.

The maker describes it as designed to bring focused light to plants, pathways and architectural features, and the adjustable head angles to put the beam where you want it. That makes it a good choice for uplighting a specimen shrub or small tree, picking out a garden wall or the face of a pier or gatepost, or marking the edge of a path after dark. Because it is small, a few spaced along a border give a steady rhythm of light without crowding the planting. The maker says the maritime influence shows in the range's materials, designs and names, and the Marlinspike suits coastal gardens, boathouse approaches and any outdoor space where solid metal and a nautical spirit feel at home.

Cable entry is through the base, which keeps the line of the fitting clean. It takes one GU10 lamp, which is not included, so you can choose the colour and beam that suit your planting. The maker describes it as built for permanent outdoor use and easy to maintain, with replaceable components. As a mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. A practical tip: angle the head away from windows and paths so the light falls on the feature, not in anyone's eyes.

Specification

Finish

Satin Nickel

Material

Solid Brass

Lamp

1 x GU10 (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP64

Diameter

6cm

Body Length

14.6cm

Spike Length

21cm

Cable Entry

Through the Base

Weight

0.83KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE & UKCA

Country of Origin

Greece

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Marlinspike stay outside all year?

Yes.
