marlinspike-garden-spike-light-ip64-raw-brass
Marlinspike Garden Spike Light IP64 - Raw Brass

Description

The Marlinspike is a compact garden spike light in solid brass with a Raw Brass finish. It has a short cylindrical head on a yoke bracket, set above a tapering brass spike that pushes into the soil. The head tilts on its bracket, so you can aim the beam up into a shrub, along a path or across a wall. It measures 6cm in diameter and weighs 0.83KG, small enough to tuck into a border yet with real heft in the hand. Its IP64 rating means it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it lives outdoors in British weather all year round.

Use it to pick out the things you want noticed after dark: a specimen plant, the edge of a path, a piece of garden architecture or the texture of a brick or stone wall. The maker says it is designed for plants, pathways and architectural features. Its small size suits close work, such as lighting a single acer or a clump of grasses from a short distance. The look is quietly nautical. Its name comes from the pointed tool sailors use to work rope, and the maker says the maritime influence shows in the range's materials, designs and names. Raw brass sits comfortably beside timber decking, gravel and planting.

The maker says it is solid brass throughout, the spike included, and describes it as built for permanent outdoor use, with replaceable components. Brass exposed to the weather darkens and mellows over time, so the bright gold of a new light slowly settles into a softer, deeper tone. The cable enters through the base, so nothing trails from the head itself. It takes one GU10 lamp, which is not included, so you can choose the lamp that suits the mood you want. As a mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, so decide where each spike will stand before the electrician arrives.

Specification

Finish

Raw Brass

Material

Solid Brass

Lamp

1 x GU10 (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP64

Diameter

6cm

Body Length

14.6cm

Spike Length

21cm

Cable Entry

Through the Base

Weight

0.83KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE & UKCA

Country of Origin

Greece

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Marlinspike spike light stay outdoors all year?

Yes.
